WHAT’S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN CHAPTER 7 AND CHAPTER 13?
Chapter 7 is the most common bankruptcy that allows you to wipe out unsecured debts, such as credit cards, personal loans and medical bills. In many cases, you are able to retain your car and home. This bankruptcy takes approximately four (4) to six (6) months to complete after payment of fees and costs. We offer payment plans for those fees and costs.
Chapter 13 is a repayment plan that allows a reorganization of your debts and a portion of your unsecured debt to be paid back over a period of time. This bankruptcy can help save a home from foreclosure, or a car from being repossessed, and allow you a chance to get caught up on past-due payments.
